WinPAC Contest 2025: Design a Playground That Includes Kids of All Abilities

​

Design the ultimate dream playground that would allow kids of all abilities to enjoy and play.  Elements should show attention to play structures that enable access.  (Hint: Accessibility to a wheelchair user does not mean Inclusive! Consider kids with physical abilities or kids who need sensory stimulation like touch, sound, etc. ) 

 

The following media are accepted (for non-written submissions, provide a photo or video of your creation). No group submissions are accepted; each should be from a single individual, with one entry per person. 

 

• Drawing/Illustration

• Video, no more than 60 seconds in length

• Clay/Playdough  

 

→ Physical entries must be no bigger than 8 ½” x 11” x 8”. 

 

Submissions will be divided into 4 groups: 

• Pre-K through Gr. 1

• Grades 2-Grade 5

• Middle School

• High School

Entries (artwork, name, grade, elements of your playground, anything we should know about why you entered the contest) should be uploaded to the contest form by 11:59 pm on March 8, 2025.

Submissions are due by 11:59 pm on Saturday, March 8, 2025 and displayed online on the WinPAC website and social media, and potentially around local Winchester locations. The winners will be announced on social media by March 30, 2025. 

 

Entries will be judged by judges to be chosen by WinPAC for the following criteria:

1. Creativity

2. Reflection of Universal Design qualities that enable inclusion of all kids

3. Quality of submission

 

Grand Prizes: 

1. $50 Gift Card to Wish Upon A Star or BookEnds: Preschool and Elementary

2. $50 Gift Card to Wish Upon A Star, BookEnds, or Frozen Hoagies: 2nd-5th Grades

3. $50 Gift Card to Starbucks or BookEnds: Middle School

4. $50 Gift Card to Playa Bowls or Starbucks: High School

Honorable Mentions: Certificate and potentially a surprise gift! 

 

Winning entries will be posted on social media and shared with the Winchester News team for publication.  They may also be displayed somewhere to be determined in Winchester. 

 

Rules: 

• One entry per person. 

• Copies of existing playground structures are not allowed. 

• We encourage respectfully asking people with varying ability levels about their playground needs.
